Sophos detected: Mal/KeyGen-M. How do I clean this up manually?

Tonight I did a Sophos Scan and it detected: Mal/KeyGen-M. It is now in my Quarantine Manager. I gave the command: Clean up threat, but ik did nog succeed. Sophos is now saying: Cleanup of the threat was not successful. You must clean it up manually. How do I clean up this threat mannually? This morning I also made a backup (time machine) on a separate hard disk. So I assume that the virus is also on my separate hard disk. How do I remove the virus from this hard disk? I already ereased the programme where the virus was found.

I am not very good with computers. Please help!

Aside from what Sandy said, there are a few other points: Mal/KeyGen-M is a trojanized Windows software key generator (pretends to generate a usable license key for commercial software, but also drops malicious software on your Windows PC).  As such, it won't actually do anything on a Mac.

So the easiest way to clean it up is to make a note in the Quarantine Manager of where it's located, temporarily disable On-Access scanning, and drag the file to the trash.  Empty the trash and re-enable on-access scanning.  Then clear it from the Quarantine Manager if it still shows up there.
