Scan showing Threats, Log is not

Hello,

I did some searching and wasnt able to find much on this subject. I ran a scan and it shows there are 2 Threats on my machine, but doesnt tell what they are or where they are located.

So I tried to check the virus log, but the virus log says that there are no Threats.... Ideas?

  • Hello baldchicken,

the snippet from the log starts on the 7th whereas the scan ran on the 6th. Does the log contain no previous entries (i.e. you are unable to scroll "up") or did you just not try? Clicking Quarantine Manager should take you to the list of threats, furthermore Scan -> View  Scan Log from the Sophos Anti-Virus menu bar or Shift+Cmd+L should take you to the Scan Local Drives log.

  • I see what you are talking about. I have the complete log, and I did a search for "threat" and went through each line... all of the lines show 0 Threats. Here is the log that was done on the 6th.

  • Hello baldchicken,

my bad - the scans don't write to the general log it seems. So please try to access the Scan local drives log(s) as described. Or try to find them via console->logs  in ~/Library/Logs/Sophos Anti-Virus/Scans.

  • You guys are AWESOME! I located the log under the path you specified, and it shows the errors / viruses.

    Thanks!
