removing an older version of Sophos

I'm having trouble removing an older version of sophos in order to install a newer version compatible with Lion.  The icon continues to appear in the pane on top of my computer and I don't know how to removed it, even though I've trashed the older sophos application.  Any ideas?

  • We have a thread about removing/installing different versions of Sophos Anti-Virus.  Versions incompatible with Lion do not install on Lion (and are removed by Lion should they be detected during a Snow Leopard upgrade).  SAV Home Edition auto-updates, so if it's an older version of this, you should already be up to date.  If it's the enterprise edition, you'll have to use the Enterprise uninstaller prior to installing the Home Edition.
