Hi,
I did ask this of support@sophos.com, but they pointed me to the forum as the Free for Home use does not include email support, so here goes:
I am IT Support at a University, we have students and visitors come in with personal machines. Each machine has to register on the network with a NAC (Network Access Control) server. This server primarily registers them, then makes them submit to a security scan.
We enforce a policy making Mac users run some kind of AV, and recommend Sophos as an example.
The university has a Full licence of Sophos, which students could get, but visitors are not entitled to. These are NOT university owned computers.
So, I want these Mac users to install the Free for Home Use Mac Sophos version. My NAC Server has a rule allowing web access to *.sophos.com. This allows quarantined computers to get to the free client download page and download the program.
Upon running it, the install process fails as it cannot update.
Manually removing the machine out of quarantine gives full web access and Sophos Mac Free installs fine.
Please can someone tell me the update URL used in the install process, so I can add the approrpaite ACL rule to my NAC.
Thanks, Jon
