Macbook Pro OS X, v 10.6.5. sending out email messages to my address book contacts

that I didn't send.


Downloaded Sophos but . . . .it didn't recognize any viruses.  My email program won't let me send out a message because it says I've overused my limit of 500 outgoing messages; have to wait 24 hrs.!!  Does anyone have any idea what's happening?  Thank so much in advance.

    Hello Laurie,

    sounds like you're using a Gmail account with your mail program (which one?) on your Mac. Are you sure that it was your program on your computer? You say you didn't send them - how do you know these 500 mails were sent to your contacts? Did you find the messages in your Sent mailbox or has some recipient complained?
