Version 7.2.7C on OSX 10.6, full scan causes system crash

I just installed the current version on my MacBook Pro.  System has 4 gig memory, a 320 gig hard disk.  Part of the drive is partitioned for Boot Camp, with Windows XP installed.

I tried running a full scan of my system.  Nothing was running, it reported that it had over 1.2 million files to scan.  After it was more than halfway through, OSX crashed and I had to restart the system.  I tried it again, and got the same result.

All the defaults were set, I hadn't changed anything in the program.

I'm very concerned that an antivirus program would cause a system crash,  It is supposed to be the other way around

Any ideas?

  • Same problem here, OSX crashes while running a complete scan. 4GB RAM, OSX 10.6.8, 350GB free disk space. I also have a Boot camp partition. Sophos version 7.3.0C, any solution? I've excluded the Boot camp partiotion in "complete scan settings".
