Because the auto-update always failed I wanted to do clean installation of SAV 9 for Mac
With the following steps
- Run Sophos removal app "Remove Sophos Anti-Virus" => message "removal successful"
- Restart OSX
- Run Sophos Installer "Sophos Anti-Virus Home Edition" => installtion failed because there was still a SAV detected somewhere
- Uninstall SAV with AppCleaner (unistall software)
- Restart OSX
- Run Sophos Installer "Sophos Anti-Virus Home Edition" => installtion failed because there was still a SAV detected somewhere
- Tried to revmove the entries in the Library
/Library/Sophos Anti-Virus folder
/Library/Application Support/Sophos folder
/Library/Application Support/Sophos Anti-Virus folder
/Library/Frameworks/SAVI.framework
/Library/Frameworks/SophosGenericsCommon.framework
/Library/Frameworks/SophosGenericsCore.framework
/Library/Frameworks/SUMScanKit.framework
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.sophos.uiserver.plist
/Library/LaunchDaemons/ all 'com.sophos' plists
/Library/Extensions/ all . kext files starting 'Sophos'

- Remove files in the library cache
/Library/Caches/com.sophos.installer/
/Library/Caches/com.sophos.sxld/

How can I force the Installer to override all existing sophos files in order to get a new Sophos Anti-Virus HomeEdition installation?
