Upgraded to OS X Mavericks in early November. Everything about Sophos that I needed to use was working well for about 2 weeks. Then it stopped automatically scanning and I wasn't about to manually request a complete scan. Every time the lock needed to be opened to change a preference, when I clicked it, it twitched a little and did nothing. Have tried to add new software to my computer that suggested shutting off antivirus while installing. Unable to do this.
I read the Apple support forums that said to uninstall the current SAV and install an updated version. When I click on the uninstaller, the dialog box twitches a little and does nothing. I currently have version 8.0.21C on my computer. It is now updating but as mentioned in another discussion, I cannot clear threats (again the issue with the lock).
I am not tech savvy. I have tried to find an answer in these forums and the Apple community as well. I really need help.
