Auto-Update stops Scan

Hej all,

if Sophos Anti-Virus 9.0.8 for Mac scans my system an auto update stops Sophos to scan. I have to disable auto updates, otherwise scanning would never finish. Is there a silotuion for this problem?

    Is the computer generally healthy?  I'm wondering if scanning and updating consumes too much system resource and something has to give way and it's the scan.

    Can you tell me what OS X version you have and the system specs?  And what type of scan you are running?  It would be good to know if the scan takes a long time to complete and how long if so.

    If you have customized a scan let me know the configuration details.
