Update taking forever

I've only been using Sophos for Mac for a while, but it's been 'updating' for the last couple of days. When I click the icon in the toolbar, the 'cancel update' is greyed out, but the progress bar isn't moving.
Any suggestions on what the problem might be?

The process for updating could of simply got stuck so from Activity Monitor you can try forcing the process to quit and then calling another update.

After that I'd suggest having a look in the updating log and seeing if it shows an particular error in there. See this video...

However sometimes the error is quite generic and so it wouldn't hurt trying this thread...

Update taking forever

Submitted a Tech Support Case lately from the Support Portal?
