Hello,
I have updated iMac with 10.9.3 Mavericks weeks. A root of the upgrade to 10.9.3 Sophos antivirus has stopped working. Scanning does not stop even if you close the program and start it again to stay in the same spot. Sophos is version 9.0, is the latest.
Before the update I was happy with Sophos.

Not the best answer, but uninstall and reinstall is perhaps the quickest way to get the program back to normal - OS upgrade/update can change things about so much it's not practical to repair the current installation.
1. Download installer: http://www.sophos.com/en-us/products/free-tools/sophos-antivirus-for-mac-home-edition.aspx
2. Remove. Search Spotlight or open from Applications folder.
3. Reinstall. Extract the download from step one and run through the installer.
