Can't get update to work on Mac home edition

Hi I'm trying to get updates to work on my MACbook pro and it will not update after setup any Ideas? I've reset to default and looked at the settings and don't see why it doesn't update

    I'm having the same problem.

    I tried to uninstall Sophos and reinstall it, but now I keep getting the error message that there is another version already installed.

    I have deleted evrything Sophos on my computer that I can find...

    After logging in as administrator the settings for updater are greyed out. Server name 'sophos', username and password are unservicable.

    A means to manually update definitions might suffice. Perhaps it is a 'feature' of free version that it doesn't automatically update.
