Vuze stalls on startup thanks to Intercheck process

I finally figured out why Vuze always takes several minutes to start up. When I start it, the Intercheck process jumps to 100% CPU usage for several minutes and the program stalls. If I force quit this process, Vuze starts immediately. Is there any way to stop this from happening? Vuze is he only affected application.

  • I just discovered that the reason my "repair permissions" process was taking so long (and has been since last year) was because it was also being locked up by Sophos! I suddenly realised that Sophos might be doing the same trick so I checked Activity Monitor and there it was. Grrr, that program has literally caused me to wait for hours. Just uninstalled it. It's less trouble than a virus!
