Sophos always has updates that are downloaded

Hello, just installed Sophos and noticed that every time I click the "update now" button, Sophos goes and downloads something. When I say every time, I mean updating 4 times within a minute. The downloads and updates are noted in the system log as well. I don't think this is normal. Can someone please let me know what is happening?

    could you post a relevant part of the log please? Might be easier to answer your question then.

    From the log, I'd say it's downloading the information to compare against the currently installed files -- it takes less than a second to complete the download, and indicates everything is up to date when it is complete.

    However, there are usually at least 6 actual updates published per day; these should last more than one second.
