I have had the same problem but I can't figure out how to set it to scan only my computer rather than all the backup drives. I would appreciate some help.

    Either put your external drives in the exclusion list, or create a custom scan that only includes your internal drive.  Both should work.

    Just an initial post to say that I, also, did not understand how to be able to scan my computer without it scanning millions of files. But after reading this post, I realized that it was easy to create a custom scan to scan only my Macintosh HD drive, which is shown on my desktop. Once I did that, I was able to do a scan that is practical. Thanks!
