Unable to cancel AutoUpdate on Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac: Home Edition 8.0.6C

Hi , I am running Mountain Lion , i am unable to stop AutoUpdate of Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac: Home Edition 8.0.6C . I am providing a screenshot the cancel option is greyed out.

Any help of why is it not letting me cancel AutoUpdate will be greatly helpful. Sometimes i need to cancel auto update as it slows down browsing when i am doing something important. But i wont like to disable it permanenlty.

    If the Cancel Update item is disabled, it either means that the update process is at a point where download has finished and it can't stop the process, or that the autoupdate process is not responding to commands.

    In the second case, launching Activity Monitor and searching for SophosAutoUpdate should allow you to quit the process.

    Once quit, you can uncheck "Check for updates on connection to network or Internet" and adjust your "Check for updates every..." item to suit your needs via the Open Preferences... -> AutoUpdate pane.
