Threat cleaned up - Is there more to do?

Sophus did a complete scan of my hard drive and discovered a threat- it was an EXE file that sophus then cleaned up and apparently deleted. Is there anything else i need to do to my computer? Although the threat was cleaned up could the computer still be infected?

I am on a power mac intrel core duo running 10.5.8

  • While there's always the possibility of your computer being infected with an undetected threat, or for cleanup of a system that's actually been infected to leave your Mac in a non-pristine state, for the most part it's just a case of clean-and-forget.  If it's a piece of Windows malware that couldn't actually run on your Mac, deleting the malicious file is always enough, as the computer itself is not infected, just storing a malicious file.
