Scan Logs -- Error opening log file

I downloaded Sophos Anti-virus for Mac the other day. For the most part, it has worked just fine. However, from day 1 whenever I try to view scan logs, the Console window opens up with an error message on the lower left corner of the window: Error opening log file. Every time. 

The Mac cursor turns into that little spinning wheel, and I have to force close the Console.

Any ideas what the problem is and what I can do to fix it?
