Installation in oresence of other anti-virus installations?

Sorry of this is in the documentation (didn't see), but must all other anti-virus programs be uninstalled when Sophos is installed?

    To be safe, yes.  You can try having others installed, but because of the way AV products work, you might be creating more than twice the slowdown, as well as creating situations where the two products are fighting with each other's components -- the worst case scenario would be that your machine has incorrect files deleted, and/or the kernel panics and you are no longer able to boot into the OS.

    In most real world instances this worst-case scenario won't happen, but based on what's going on under the hood in AV software, this *could* happen, and the relationship matrix is too large for AV vendors to guarantee that it won't.
