Local Drives scan?

Does a local drives scan san my harddrive and all the other things on my computer? Like the macintosh HD,Dropbox, desktop,*insert username here*, applications, and documents or does it scan something else?

Edit: found the reason, it was just a large file probably. Also will sophos stop/pause its local drives scan if i put my computer to sleep?

Is a local drives scan the same as a on-demand scan.(refer to my first question also^^)

  • In answer to your last question: the local drives scan is an on-demand scan.  You can also make custom on-demand scans that only scan a portion of your computer instead of all local storage. This also answers your first question (sort of -- if you are logged in via a limited account, you won't be able to scan areas of your computer to which you do not have access).

Sleeping your computer will stop all software from operating; waking your computer will resume operation where it left off (including your scan).
