Ok - since using this software it seems like my computer is sloooow.  apps take longer to open and things just slowed down.  what is going on?  if this is normal - it is not good.

also found a trojan javascript  on an old powerbook and removed and a malware on a macbook pro - go figure,  

comments welcome.

I have been tempted to go back to not using anything.  way too slow for my needs - esp when the laptops are not the fastest out there either.

    If you left the defaults on and ran a manual scan from the app, then it's probably in the middle of unpacking a >2GB archive to scan the contents. This first scan can last a day or so if you have large archives on your computer.  Turning off archive scanning will enable you to scan quite quickly and painlessly, but you should still go back and scan your archives at some point (using a custom scan to scan one area at a time would probably work best).

    After scanning, ensure that archive scanning is disabled in the on-access scans, and you should have most realtime scanning covered (and not need to go back and do another slow manual scan).
