Auto scan?

Does Sophos AV for Mac scan your computer automatically? If not, is there a way to set it up. (Don't be afraid to be technical, I can handle it)

    It depends what you mean by automatically. The default is to have on-access turned on. This is a good thing, and means you cannot access a file without it being checked by Sophos - in that respect you are protected.

    What isn't available is a scheduled full scan - for example you cannot arrange to scan your whole disk at 1am every morning. IMHO this isn't that important - once you have done it once and have on-access on you should be ok. You can initiate a manual scan of your whole disk whenever you want - but I'd read the advice about slowdowns first if you are running bootcamp.

    In addition to paul84's sound reply - you can schedule the sweep command using cron (just search for sweep or cron in this forum to see a few related posts).
