Scan changed or new files

Question

Hi

Just set-up the latest AV scanner on OS X 10.7.5 and did a full scan.

I have had a poke through the options, but I cannot see a way of limiting a scan to changed or new files, can it be done?

Hello Pete,

the purpose of the initial Full Scan should be obvious. Later, an On-Demand scan (whether immediate or scheduled) is not your first line of defence but complements the On-Access scan. Scanning only new or changed files might seem a good idea - but as new and changed files should have been scanned by On-Access, what would be the purpose of the On-Demand scan? If you want to re-scan recently changed files to account for new/updated detections (those issued after the file has last been scanned) - which files should be excluded and which not, i.e. how would you define recently ?
