Sophos is not working

So I've updated sophos AV to 9.0.11 on my MacBook Pro running 0S 10.9.4 however I keep receiving a message regularly stating that sophos is not running/working.
It will also not complete a scan this mac and regularly stops /freezes and I'm worries that my mac is not protected or is receiving viruses. Please can someone help?

  • Well, I had the same (running MacOS10.9.4) and thought it a good idea to upgrade to SAV 9.1.5 but... to no avail. When I ask to run a scan I get a sort of blank window not giving me any options (see attached), nor does anything happen. When I try to set preferences it replies to me that the "configuration daemon is not running" without any suggestions as to get that running then if that seems to be necessary. This is exactly the same as i got when still trying to run SAV9.0.11. I was hoping the update would solve the problem, but it persisted.

    I'm a bit a loss now. :womansad:
