Scheduling updates

Is there anyway to schedule updates/update checks to occur at a specified time? I find an option for setting the frequency but not specifying by time of day. Am I missing something?

    You're not missing anything... this is the way the home edition is configured.  Remember however that Sophos pushes out updates approximately every 4 hours; checking at specified times instead of checking hourly will likely degrade your protection level.

    I can understand and appreciate the frequency, but frankly the updater seems to suck quite a bit of the system resources and things slow noticably. I'd prefer to be able to schedule updates based on the time of day when I am not using the computer as opposed to every so many hours without any real control over when those cycles start.
