SAV 9 removal script has mistakes

Hi Sophos, In SAV 9 the remove_9.sh script has mistakes.  When you run the script the following is shown at the end... error: leftover path /Library/Caches/com.sophos.installer/ needs to be removed
error: leftover path /Library/Caches/com.sophos.sxld/ needs to be removed  If you look in the script you have the line (169)... delete_from_filesystem "/Library/Caches/com.sophos.sxl" ..which doesn't exist and should be com.sophos.sxl d and the line to remove com.sophos.installer doesn't exist anywhere in the script. Can you confirm? :1013068

Hi Diz,

Yes you are correct. For the home edition, we put the "remove tool" program in to /Applications. The business edition puts in under /Library/Sophos Anti-Virus. Apologies for the confusion.

The benefit of using the Remove Sophos Anti-Virus.app program is it knows what was recently installed and can correctly remove the software elegently. It doesn't have to guess what might have been installed.

The remove_v9.sh script is definitely more "brute force" - it just tries to remove things that might exist. Its sort of a "force removal" script rather than an uninstaller, if that makes any sense. :1013206
