Can't login - locked out

I installed the free version on my wifes Macbook becaue I thought I had some security problems. I deleted the app after figuring out my issue turned out to be a router firmware problem.

I did not "uninstall" the app correctly because I still had safeguard icons on the harddrive and top information bar. 

I decided to reinstall the program to "uninstall" correctly (not just dragging app icon to trash). After reinstalling the program its prompting me for a username and password.  I don't remember the username and password I selcted on the initial installion. I tried the user name and password for the admin account on the mac but no luck. 

I've tried every combination of username and password but am still locked out. Please help me figure out how to bypass the sophos login screen so we can have our computer back! 

I searched the forums but didn't see any solutions. I am desperate.

  • I believe you are talking about our commercial SafeGuard for OS X product and not our free Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac Home Edition product.  Is this the case?
