Mountain lion - scan local drives shows "this scan has never been run"

HI there ...

I recently upgraded from lion to mountain lion (10.8.1) and then installed sophos

clicked the black sophos icon-> scan local drives ... scan seems to complete but when i open sophos it shows under scan local drives that scan has never been run ... i scanned twice and does not show any record of the scan ... can someone tell me what i am doing wrong?

It's possible that the scan is dying before it completes; what happens if you disconnect network shares and external drives prior to running the scan?

thanks for the reply ... i did not have network share or external drives ... but what i did do was disable internet connection(wifi) and it worked .... will try scan again with wifi on as i had the first 2 times to see if the dead scan is repeatble
