Changing the Nightly Scan schedule time

Hello,

I recently got Sophos as a student at Drexel University. I was pleased with how nicely it updates in the background and does not bother me when doing so (unlike other AV software that I was previously using).

I noticed that the Nightly Scan that is already set up upon install of the software was running one night, when I really needed the CPU power of my computer. I figured "Okay, since the virus scan is scheduled to run at 9 PM, I will just change it."

Upon clicking the Scan Settings option on the Scans window, I found that no option in the Nightly Scan is editable, at least on first glance. Is there a way that I can adjust the Nightly Scan to NOT run at 9 PM, or do I really have to create another scan just so it runs at a separate time?

This seems like poor UX if that is the case.

Thanks in advance for your advice and help.

  • Hello neon_electro,

it's likely the licensed version which is centrally managed (you'll also notice that the scan's icon is different from those of locally created scans). Guess Drexel's IT manages Sophos and it's them you'd have to ask.
