sophos UI cannot be opened because of a problem

About two weeks ago i started recieving a message 'UI cannot be opened because of a problem', this message was displayed at the end of  the AV update.

I did a search and came to the sophos website that recommended removing and re-installing the programme which I did, however the problem has now returned.

I appreciate any help with this, my understanding of computers is small so please use simple language.

My laptop is a 13inch macbook pro mid 2012, Sophos version is 8.0.10C.
