    Hello Louis17,

    looks like the Sophos Virus Removal Tool service is marked for deletion.

    Did you ever successfully run it - the log shows three attempted runs on 2012-10-15. Last message from the first is 2012-10-15 19:29:07 Version info: Last successful update (not yet updated) after which it should attempt to download updates. Instead two minutes later a new run starts (wonder what happened to the first) which encounters the error. The third attempt immediately afterwards also gets as far as the version info.

    Almost looks like "something" is killing the application. What happened with the runs which did not show the error message - did the GUI just close?

    Hi, thank you for answering me Christian. Last time when I've started SVRT, the GUI appears but it seems to freeze, so I've killed the process. Today I've retried and this time I've waited about 5 min and the update process started. The program seems to work this time. I think I did not wait enough last time. It's unusual to wait 5 min for a program lauching. Is it normal? Anyway... I start the scan... I think it's ok for now. Thank you very much :) Louis17
