Intercheck maxes out my CPUs

Intercheck is using 98% of my %CPU for long periods of time. If I kill it, it comes back and climbs to 90%. Is there a way to fix this?

TIA,

Bill

  • My early 2011 MacBook Pro was running the fan almost constantly with CPU temperature of 192:smileymad:.  Yes, almost twice as hot as Arizona is in June. I was getting about two hours of battery life until I opened up Activity Monitor and noted that Intercheck was using 75% of the capacity and memory of my CPU.  Per this thread I disabled the archive feature and within the seonds the fan shut off and the temperature glided down to a chilly 122.:smileyhappy:  Thanks to all who gave help on this thread.  I was ready to yank out my after-market RAM.  Nice to have a simple solution.  Oh, for what it's worth, I'm running OS 10.7.4.
