i appreciate your program but your documentation and interface need improvement
1-documentation is very thin eg
if move, delete, cleanup worked [which they don't] there is no explanation of what each option does and how they differ
in custom scan, how do "scan all" and "scan with current privileges" differ?
2-dialog boxes not standard
the "done" button in custom scan is not active
the same for the buttons in the update result window
both must be clicked manually to close
the quarantine manager window and sections are not resizable
these items should be fixed
3-"you must authenticate as an administrator"
"To scan all files that you do not have access to, you must authenticate as an administrator."
"The threat could not be cleaned up without authentication. It can be cleaned up if you authenticate as an administrator."
how? there is no option or setting to do so
clicking the padlock does not change the result
i am an administrator
heck i am THE administrator
4-scan result action settings
there are several different types of scans
each has its own options setting
are they independent or does one override another?
and why is there no global setting for custom scan actions?
each new custom scan has to be set manually every time
the ability to do this is good
the need to do it is not
5-dealing with scan results
move, cleanup and delete do not work
the scan revealed 52 threats affecting 1900 files
my only option is to open the log and hunt and peck for 1900 files?
hmmm...
you could at least hotlink the scan results in the quarantine manager and the log
6-forum interface
i wrote this in a text editor, but when i paste it into this window, ALL formatting [tabs, cr's] is lost
this is very unusual behavior compared to other forums i have used
including those oriented to pc and *nix users
there is an option to "paste from word"
whoopee! i don't use microsh.t
on the other hand, if i --
first paste the text into apple textedit
and then convert it to rtf
and then copy and paste into the forum window
the formatting is preserved
this is useful but it should not be necessary
["too many notes"]
in summary
if you are offering a program without tech support, you need to have good documentation [obvious to you is not obvious to me]
if you are offering a program for mac's, it should follow standard mac guidelines
if you are offering a program with options, those options should actually work
