Thre machines - Error 1606: Could not access network data location

Last few days I have tried to run the Virus Removal Tool and on each machine I get:

Error 1606: Could not access network data location

All machines are on different networks, all are XP.

    Hello TDSSupport,

    off the top of my head - either an unavailable network location is mapped under the current account or there is an error in the User Shell Folders registry key. Is there a location after the message?

    Well the one I have in front of me right now is a home PC so there are no mapped network drives. There is no other information provided. I did not check the event log. Due to malware there have been issues with the shell that I am working through.
