Managing Sophos icon in Launchpad after updates

Because I have auto-update enabled, the program keeps deleting itself and reinstalling a new version of itself. This results in its icon in Launchpad being reset everytime this happens. Can this be fixed?

    This is a bug that's been filed with Apple -- they fixed part of it with Mountain Lion, but as you can see, the entire problem isn't yet fixed.  It affects other software that uses auto-update systems not provided by Apple as well.
