Ok, I downloaded the free virus tool/ rootkit tool. I installed it, and left it running doing a scan as I went to work. I came home from work, and found it listed five threats found. Next to it was a button asking if I wanted to clean the threats. I did, so I pressed it.
The end result was twofold. The VRT said it could not clean any of the threats. And now the list of threats is gone, so I don't even know what they were. The details button was greyed out on the last page. And now if I restart the software, the only option it gives is to run another long scan of my computer. Is there any way to see the results of the last scan?
I searched for log files where the helps said to find them, none there. Not even a Logs folder in the Program files folders.
So, now, I don't even know what the threats were ... much less get to the next stage where from the first post on the program you seem to just point people at some generic tools and say 'good luck'.
Is that all this thing does? Any advice on what to do next?
