Uninstall Sophos

Some time ago I installed a free copy of Sophos for my iMac that I got from my previous employer.  Recently I had to wipe my hard drive clean and restore everything from my external hard drive.  When I did that, it did not fully restore Sophos and I cannot uninstall it (nothing will let me do this).  Unfortunately I can't find the original disc that I used to install Sophos.  Does anybody know of what I can do to uninstall Sophos to start over with their free online download?

Thanks.

  • Yes; there's a really good thread on here with instructions covering pretty much every method of accomplishing this.

The short form is: Download an evaluation version of the Mac single user software from our website (not the network version, not the Windows version) and overinstall it... then run the /Library/SAV/Remove app.  Then you can install the Home Edition if you want to, or just leave it uninstalled if you don't want any version of SAV installed.
