Hi all, I am wondering if anyone has heard if this tool is being discontinued? The SAV32CLI.exe has not been updated since July 2013 but the IDE's continue to be released.

Ok, SAV32CLI is still version 4.98, February 2014. But now it say (with the latest IDEs):
"Useful life of Sophos Anti-Virus has been exceeded"
Sophos Anti-Virus Version 4.98.0 [Win32/Intel] Virus data version 4.98G, February 2014 Includes detection for 6470175 viruses, trojans and worms Copyright (c) 1989-2014 Sophos Plc. Is this the end of life for the SAV32CLI Emergency Command Line scanner?

Hello fuwi,
SAV32CLI considers itself as outdated after several months as there have likely been engine updates in the meantime, some newer IDEs might not play to their full potential or even be effectively no-ops.
:smileytongue: It's better to be ahead, here's what you get with SESC 10.3.7 (the AV product):
Sophos Anti-Virus Copyright (c) 1989-2014 Sophos Plc. All rights reserved. System time 11:40:05, System date 13 June 2014 Product version : 1.01.1 Engine version : 3.51.1 Virus data version : 5.02 User interface version : 2.93.000 Platform : Win32/Intel Released : 19 June 2014 Total viruses (with IDEs) : 7091385
Likely the downloadable SFX has not yet been updated to the latest version (I expect it to be released next week :smileywink:).
Christian
I look forward to a new Engine release.
There was a time when it was upgraded monthly. Albeit there have also been times where months have gone by w/o a new release. It does seem this perios was a little longer than usual.
Thanx for the info posted in this thread in response to the intial query.
