Major issues with Lion

Ever since I upgraded to Lion, I've been having serious slow-downs and freezes on my new Macbook Pro. At first, I thought the issues were hardware related, but after 3 weeks of good days and bad days, I finally removed Sophos Antivirus from my computer. Interestingly, I have had no issues since.

    There are some good threads on here about possible MacBook Pro Lion issues, although I believe those have been fixed prior to version 8.0.6 -- the MacBook Pro does local time machine backups which were having issues with older versions of SAV 7.

    Have you tried turning off archive scanning in the on-access scan, and disabling live protection?
