Sophos 8.0.1c - cannot enable on-access scan

I can't enable the on-access scan, it is completely greyed out.  Even when I select the unlock button it remains greyed out.  I've tried restarting, reinstalling, running all scans but there is no way to enable this.  I am the administrator on my account.

Any one else having this issue?

    I've tried this, and I get the error: "The preferences option specified has not taken effect in the on-access Scanner." Nothing works. This has been a live thread for quite a while, considering it's a security product that isn't functioning. Sophos, are you able to replicate it but can't find a fix, or something else?
