Sophos 8.0.1c - cannot enable on-access scan

I can't enable the on-access scan, it is completely greyed out.  Even when I select the unlock button it remains greyed out.  I've tried restarting, reinstalling, running all scans but there is no way to enable this.  I am the administrator on my account.

Any one else having this issue?

    Agree also. It would be nice if you could see an indication in the Sophos menu bar item that indicated whether on-access scanning was off or on. Some visual confirmation.

    What I have started doing is once per week opening Sophos Preferences to check On-access Scanning tab to confirm it is still on. A simple indicator that is always visible would be nice.
