I think my laptop has a virus, but how can i find out?

Ive done a scan with norton, it picked up nothing. But i think my laptop has a virus. Its being very slow! Can the memory on it make the internet go slow? I have quite a lot of music, and lots of programmes on it like msn, blackberry desktop manager, paint shop pro, itunes, divx, opera, internet and firefox. Thats just a few big programmes... could they slow it down?

  • A virus can cause a laptop to be slow, but many things can cause your laptop to be slow and sluggish. Viruses will usually cause things like programs to just disappear, or applications stating that you don't have privaleges to run that application. Viruses can stop application from running, It sounds like your laptop needs a cleanup, or your hard-drive could be going bad. You may also have trouble with Registry and memory. I would look for a program that cleans your registry and defrags your files and memory. Maybe a clean install of your operating system and reload all your programs can have your laptop running like new again!
