A Sophos process or not?

The app Little Snitch asked for permission "wants to connect to rslv0.phonera.net on UDP port 53 (domain)." at IP Address: 217.75.96.11 . Coming from "/Library/Sophos Anti-Virus/InterCheck.app/Contents/MacOS/InterCheck". Is that a process by Sophos AntiVirus? Seems strange as it turned up yesterday. Never had it before. What do you think?

  • First of all, UDP port 53 is name resolving, basically it's connecting to your ISP (phonera) asking to resolve the some address to get the IP, presumably Sophos  own servers, possible related to the new Live Protection component.

An yes, evidently, Intercheck is a Sophos AV process.
