Sophos Anti-Rootkit actually installs itself to C:\program files\sophos\sophos anti-rootkit
Why does it mean by standalone product?
I thought it is an portable app.
Thanks.

Sophos Anti-Rootkit (SAR) is a "standalone" application in that it can be installed on its own without Sophos Anti-Virus, Sophos AutoUpdate or Sophos Remote Management System
The tool has to be installed and run locally on the computer in "normal" mode Windows - i.e. not SafeMode etc. This is because the tool works by doing it's own scanning of all the files, folders and registry keys on the windows and then asking the operating system what it thinks is there. Any differences are flagged. Therefore make sure you shutdown any application and are not using the computer while the scan runs to minimise the tool detecting changes caused by you.
Hope this helps.
