Threat Lost From Quarantine

I found a threat after scanning with Sophos for Mac, I then clicked "Clear from list" by accident, instead of "Clean threat" and removed the threat from quarantine. I have ran further scans but have not found the original threat from the previous scan.

Could somebody please tell me whether this threat has been eliminated or it still exists on my system, if so, how do I find it again and clean it?

  • Hello Rucksack,

a new scan (identical to the old one - scanning inside archives or not makes a difference) should again find it (assuming it is still there). If you can remember what and where it was we could guess what might happened to it. Anyway as long as you have on-access turned on it will do no harm.

  • Hi Christian, thanks for your reply. The log is telling me that Sophos found a "troj/mdrop-CIH" (I've found this to be windows platform trojan)  in the Downloads section. However I have done a custom scan of Downloads, but have not found anythng.

Ive probably cleaned AND cleared without thinking.

    Thanks Alot,

    Rucksack
