Creating a VM after Sophos SafeGuard Client 5.50.1 is install

Hello Everyone,

I am trying unsuccessfully so far, to P2V, i.e. to create a VMware guest out of a machine running Windows XP Professional with Sophos SafeGuard Client already installed. I have P2V dozens of different machines from different OS and feel very confident with VMware products, therefore the only thing I can think of stopping me from successfully doing this is the Sophos Encryption program on the workstation. The version is Sophos SafeGuard Client 5.50.1. Has anyone successfully P2V, i.e. created a VM machine out of a workstation already running this version of Sophos Encryption program? Can you please share your process or steps? Any help will really be appreciate it!! Thank you in advanced. Regards, - Josh

  • Hi joshuadiaz47,

    welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately I do not have a description for this one but I can at least give you a hint: When creating a VMWare please make sure that the MRB section and the drive are virtualized including bad sectors.

However, it might eventually be easier to simply install SGN on an already existing VMWare which would be working as well.

    Regards

    Dan

  • Does the machine have the DE module installed and if so, is the disk encrypted or not?
