Safe guard 8 - USB auto encryption windows 10

I have a policy working correctly for windows 7 that auto encrypts USB keys on insertion, and then you can remove the key and put it on another machine. But how can you do this on a windows 10 machine that is using bitlocker ?

I want to be able transfer data between the machines with a single USB key  ( windows 7 and windows 10 ) and have the drive auto encrypted if inserted,  Is this possible ?

Thanks

  • BitLocker doesn't really do file encryption - just volume/drive. It is possible to mount virtual drives and encrypt those but it's a bit messy and not intuitive.

So yes, as Toby said. If you wish to encrypt files you'd have a SafeGuard file encryption policy and it would encrypt using Sophos encryption, but volumes/drives would be BitLocker (but managed by Sophos SafeGuard policy) If that makes sense?
