only 1 domain and all was working fine until recently- we also upgraded to ver 8.00.2.16 a couple weeks ago as well.

Hi Chris,
Please try resetting the Ad sync login and password. In case that doesn't work, try with a domain admin account.
tried both of those and still received the same message - under credentials it says the connection to the requested directory was successful
we are conducting some tests now- I believe this may have to do with us upgrading the server to 8 and some of the installs were using ver 6. so we are testing with some units that are not currently encrypted and installing the latest version of the client
