Recovering data on HDD running Safeguard Easy v4.40.0

Hi,

I need to recover data that is currently on a hard disk that was installed in a laptop running safeguard easy v4.40.0.

The laptop is no longer working, but i require access to the files that are on the hard disk.

Is there anyway to recover the data by connecting it to another computer using an external hard drive case?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

  • What you might try is Take a PC, please note that its contents will be gone after this operation Restore the correct SafeGuard Easy kernel to that PC Switch the PC off and connect the drive Boot from the emergency CD. If the drive is recognized, an emergency decryption would also decrypt your drive. If it is not: Take a PC, please note that its contents will be gone after this operation. Restore the correct SafeGuard Easy kernel to that PC Switch the PC off and build the drive into the PC. Boot from the emergency CD. If the drive is recognized, an emergency decryption would also decrypt your drive. As the emergency decryption will decrypt also the drive belonging to the PC, which wasn't encrypted, or with another key, in the first place, it's contents will be just as scrambled as after a normal encryption. So you'd need to reinstall it. If neither works, you better have another backup of the data.
