decrypt an single file (txt)

Hi,

we´ve Safeguard Entprise in use and at the moment, I´ve one guy, who has an external USB Harddrive.

The Harddrive isn´t encrypted, so that I can see everything.

In the management center, the HDD is in an white list and also not included for encryption.

The problem is, that he has some files on the HDD, which i can open, but then I can see, that the files are encrypted with sophos.

I´ve no right-click options from sophos on this file and now I don´t know how to decrypt these files.

Is there any way?

Thanks a lot

  • Hi Melchor,

the Windows explorer context menu entry for file based encryption is only available if the SafeGuard Enterprise Data Exchange module was installed on the machine.

You might want to check if it is installed on your machine and if not install it. Afterwards you should be able to check the encryption status of a file and decrypt the file (depending on the permissions and assigned keys/policies).
